Self Reflective Cover Letter The three pieces of work I chose to place into my portfolio are: 1. Evaluation Draft- “For Liberty and Justice for All” 2. Profile Draft- The Man, the Myth, the Reporter 3. Report Draft- Extra, Extra! Steroids aren’t the only answer. These three assignments are the ones I had the most enjoyment in writing. The Evaluation Draft is one of my finest writings ever. It is filled with pathos and is a subject Americans, my audience, will find appealing and emotional. I tried to use strong, vivid language when expressing my thoughts about the American flag. I also feel that as a soldier currently fighting overseas my credibility towards the American flag is well established. The Profile Draft was done on a man that I have so much respect for that learning more about him through my research was just a blast. My intended audience is the dedicated baseball fans who actually take the time to follow the sport all season. They will also share in my “man-crush” for Peter Gammons and care about his thoughts. The Report Draft was the paper I placed the most time and effort into. I had my calculator out as I was getting the batting average of each time period a new baseball was introduced or home runs hit for each period a different bat was used. I enjoyed learning about the other aspects of baseball that have changed through the decades. My intended audience for this paper is really anyone interested in a different perspective. They would be a sports fan of course.
